A few people have mentioned the images on my context blog are interesting, but couldn't see how they were influencing my design practice.
So sticking with the vector style which seems to be working well i have produced this composition based on the artwork of Agatha Cristie's novel 'Death on the river Nile'. The story is set in Egypt so the original image was made up of bright yellows and oranges to get across the scene of the hot, dry country. However the heavy, dropped shadow also provided a sinister tone, perfect for a murder mystery. I have copied what i think makes this image mysterious however changed the colour scheme to link into the 'mystery movie film season".
I have seen the movie before and know the murderer ends up shooting himself in the leg. So have tried to use this sequence to advertise the film 4 logo (the movie season host).
It needs some more work, but i think i have the style sorted out now.

using the pen tool I copied the poster from the context blog.
Story board
I have tried animating this storyboard using the new vector graphics. I've had a few problems so have changed it slightly. For example In this story board the word 'Nile' is written as a reflection in the water, I don't know how to achieve this look of 'text- shadow' on flowing water. So instead i have cut out the river water completely however included a sound track of water so the viewer can imagine the river Nile them selves. The text and word Nile are written in the 'Market Deco' font, the same font used in film season logo.
DEATH OF THE NILE version 2
This one is the same as the previous however I've added extra music and a couple more seconds on the end, for youtubes sake.
